Hail stones the size of peas

April 2, 2008

Yes, that’s right. Hail stones the size of peas, giant peas, giant frozen peas, have just hailed through the suburbs of Adelaide. At least in downtown Thebarton they have.
(Adelaide, 6.25 pm 2nd April, 2008) :-)

- ok Mr WordPress, I never wanted a smiley here anyway. Why do you not want to close the bracket after 2008? Yes, I know an ‘8′ and a ‘)’ looks like a smiley face; but I’m an adult – that stuff is for kids isn’t it?

A week or so ago we were just recovering from a heat wave having just suffered a million days of temperatures over 40 degrees (Celcius).  Now it’s weather for jackets and jumpers. It has been raining on and off all day – and now a hail storm . . . Yes, really . . . giant peas . . . frozen . . . what is the world coming to?

Well, that is the weather report from Adelaide, sunny South Australia. I don’t usually do weather reports. Why have I done this at all? Is it significant? What does it signify? Tomorrow will be cloudy and warm? . . . sure.

Great series on the ABC last night. How Art Made the World. Icons and portraits are great symbols of power that were used by Darius the Archer and by Alexander the Great. I wonder if I would have watched this, as spellbound as I was, if I were not now a media student? I wonder. Anyway, in a few days I am going to google ‘giant peas’ and see what comes up.

There are already 454,000 entries for ‘giant peas’ and 582,000 for ‘giant frozen peas’.

It has stopped raining now. But the electricity went off for a few moments . . . and turned the computers off and back on again . . . and reset the internet connection . . . gremlins
